MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce Deputy Fred Michael as the 2017 officer of the year.
Deputy Michael has worked as a deputy in the jail division since joining the agency in 2006. In addition to his normal duties he also serves as a training officer for new hires. Deputy Michael was nominated by a large number of his coworkers. He consistently receives positive evaluations from his supervisors citing his calm demeanor, even in stressful situations.
Deputy Michael is a graduate of Coshocton High School and Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
