MOUNT VERNON — The United Way of Knox County has announced it has reached 54.9 percent of its $1 million fundraising campaign goal.
The campaign stands at $548,601, the organization announced on Monday.
“Our community and Knox County never ceases to amaze me with their commitment to help others and the generosity everyone continuously shows,” Ryan Sponsler, United Way of Knox County 2017 Campaign Chair. “I’ve never seen anything like it and am so proud to be part of it.
“We still have a lot of work to do for this campaign but this community always comes through when it matters most.”
The United Way’s 2017 campaign will be investing in 26 programs through 16 partner agencies to benefit the education, health, and financial stability of Knox County residents, the organization stated.
