MOUNT VERNON — Main Street Mount Vernon (MSMV) is proud to announce the winners of the annual holiday window display contest. Several Central Business District businesses decked their windows in an “Old-Fashioned Christmas”-theme and were judged by members of the Food for the Hungry committee.
Flowers For You was awarded Best Overall and won a gift certificate to downtown businesses; Knox County Vision Care Center was awarded Best Christmas Walk Theme “Old-Fashioned Christmas” and won a free advertisement in the Mount Vernon News; Pine Row Studios was awarded Most Downtown Spirit and won a one-year free membership with Main Street Mount Vernon; and Jillian Vance Studio + Boutique and The Woolson Company were each awarded the Judges Choice Award and won a gift certificate to downtown businesses.
At the time of judging, 13 windows were decorated for the Christmas Walk/Parade, which took place on Sunday, Nov. 27.
“We were thrilled with the downtown excitement in preparation for our annual Christmas Walk/Parade. Thank you to everyone who helped make downtown look fabulous,” said Carrie Hyman, Executive Director at Main Street Mount Vernon. “Window display contests strengthen pride in our local community and fosters morale and community spirit just in time for the holidays.”
