BELLVILLE — Experience Bethlehem will be held this year on Dec. 8 through 10 when Clear Fork Alliance Church will turn back the calendar to over 2,000 years ago to the time of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Guests will travel through LIVE scenes depicting the story of the birth of the baby Jesus and culminate at the live manger scene in Bethlehem.
Upon entering Bethlehem guests register with the census taker and receive a free bag of gold coins which can be spent in Bethlehem’s shops sampling foods, purchasing flowers, jewelry, and other items to take home. Musicians and the angel choir entertain guests as they watch the town’s blacksmith, potter, and brick maker demonstrate their trades.
Roman soldiers roam through the streets collecting taxes, arresting beggars, and on occasion, have been known to accept gold coins as a bribe to put an unsuspecting guest in the town’s jail.

This is a free event. Tours are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. This free family event is all inside and is held at Clear Fork Alliance Church (across from Clear Fork High School), 1008 St. Rt. 97 E., Bellville.
