MOUNT VERNON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Crash Report – Nov. 20
- Ricky W. Lanning arrived at the Mount Vernon Police Department to report a motor vehicle crash. Lanning says he does not know the date, time, or location of the crash but he believes someone struck his vehicle and fled the scene. When an officer examined the damage, he noticed what appeared to be yellow paint transfer on the passenger side and damage consistent with a marked yellow post that could be found in a parking lot. Lanning indicated he might have struck a yellow pole in the Knox Community Hospital parking lot sometime on Saturday or Sunday.
Incident Report – Nov. 20
- An officer responded to an address on Martinsburg Road in reference to a semi tractor-trailer that was attempting to turn from Newark Road onto Martinsburg Road. The complainant advised the truck left the area heading south on State Route 586 and did not stop. There is nothing further to report
- At approximately 11:23 p.m. an officer responded to West Chestnut Street on a report of a missing juvenile. A missing person report was filed. One female juvenile was entered into LEADS. This report will be supplemented once the juvenile is located.
- Dispatch advised they received a call from a female walking on Granville Road near International Paper. The caller indicated it appeared as though a female subject was intoxicated. The intoxicated female was located and subsequently arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting and underage consumption.
Arrests and Citations
- Nov. 18 – Roger Mays, 59, Blackjack Road, was arrested and charged with drug paraphernalia offenses. He was also cited for driving under the influence and vehicle light violations.
