MOUNT VERNON — “Enter Knox County”

It’s a sign I’ve passed on my way into Mount Vernon for two weeks now. It’s a reminder every time that I’m becoming a member of a new community, one that has already welcomed me at the handful of events I’ve attended.

In fact, Knox County isn’t so different from where I started. It’s a little bigger and has a slightly faster pace. But underneath it all, Knox County and its residents are just like where I grew up. It’s a community-minded place that wants to put its best foot forward.

For the last seven years I was part of a team that ran a county-wide online news site in Crawford County. We found success covering the big municipalities as well as the smaller villages, local sports, businesses and everything in-between. To me, that’s what local media is all about: focusing on the things that matter most to your community.

That’s what I promise you, Knox County. If it matters to you, it matters to me. If you think something should be covered, send me an email (krystal@knoxpages.com) or hit me up on social media.

Now, since we’ve got that part out of the way, I’ll give you some tidbits about me if you want to make some small talk whenever we meet.

I have two furkids (Bentley and Artemi) and I will show you their pictures if you give me the slightest opportunity. I’m a voracious reader – aiming for 100 books once again with my Goodreads goal – and you can bet that I’ll have some kind of book on my person at any given time.

The other big thing about me? I’m a huge Columbus Blue Jackets fan (yes, Artemi is named after a certain breadman).

Another thing that I hope will endear me to Knox County: I’m a photographer! That means you’ll have plenty of reasons to hang around Knox Pages a little longer looking at awesome photos.

Are you ready, Knox County? Because Knox Pages and its team is ready to give you an outstanding product.
