KNOX COUNTY — Elementary school students are fighting hunger in Knox County. The 2015 Greater Knox County Food For The Hungry School Drive is underway with the sponsorship of Delta Kappa Gamma sorority. Donations will benefit the 36th annual Food For The Hungry Drive. The children are demonstrating that you are never too young to make a difference. Centerburg, Danville, East Knox, and Fredericktown Elementary Schools will join the Knox Learning Center to collect from Monday, November 13 through Friday, November 17.
During last year’s Food For The Hungry Drive, Greater Knox County students collected 4,312 non-perishable food items and $5,685.70. This year, the classroom in each participating school that contributes the highest number of food items per student will be treated to a pizza party. Cash donations are welcome. Each $1 donated will be equal to four food items. Checks should be made payable to Food For The Hungry. Donations will benefit and be used in each respective area of the county.
The winning classroom pizza parties for each of the Greater Knox County schools are being sponsored by:
Centerburg Elementary School – Long Branch Pizza
Danville Elementary – The Hangout
East Knox Elementary – Nancy Maria’s Pizza
Fredericktown Elementary – Pizza Dock
