LANCASTER – Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen says his office has been working closely with the Administration of the Walnut Township School District regarding the threats emailed in to the school on Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3, 2017.
Sheriff Phalen advised that this morning, Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office arrested a 12 year old Millersport Elementary Student and charged him with two counts of Inducing Panic. The juvenile has since been released to his guardians following a court appearance in the Fairfield County Juvenile Court.
Superintendent Randy Cotner stated “We are thankful the investigation led to the arrest of the perpetrator. We are happy to resume normal school operations.”
Sheriff Phalen stated that these types of threats are taken extremely serious and will be fully investigated. Those found to be responsible will be charged to the fullest extent the law allows.
