MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Cantata Choir will present “Season of Wonders” on Friday, December 1 at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 2 at 3:00pm at the Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon. Soloists Randy Parsons, Cherrie Dole, Karen Burgess, Jennifer Grassbaugh, Jill Carroll, Larry Splain and Amy K. Stoner will be featured.

Randy Parsons moved to Apple Valley after serving 27 years in the USAF. Randy graduated from Northridge HS where he was awarded the National Choral Award. Randy and his wife, Mickey, are members of the First Baptist Church and sing in the choir.

Cherrie Dole is a retired RN who enjoys singing because “it fills my soul”. Cherrie sings with the Apple Valley Singers and with the First Congregational Church choir. She and her husband, Tom, have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.

Karen Burgess hails from Mount Vernon and has worked in nursing home business offices for 37 years. She spent most of her years in instrumental music during high school and at Capital University. Karen is a charter member of the Dogwood Blossoms chorus of Sweet Adelines, currently singing bass and serving as treasurer and assistant director. She also sings in the choir at the First Baptist Church. Karen has 3 sons and 5 grandchildren.

Jennifer Grassbaugh has had music in her life since she very young, whether singing, dancing, or putting on shows for her family. A part of countless musicals and choirs, Jennifer is now very active in the Central Christian Church choir, Praise team, and Jubilate quartet. She and her husband reside in Mount Vernon with their 2 children.

Jill Carroll participated in choir and band throughout high school and is a former member of the praise band, All For One. She is active in Central Christian Church choir, Praise team, and Jubilate quartet. Jill resides in Mount Vernon and has 2 children, 1 son-in-law, and a grandson.

Larry Splain is a carpenter and part-time karate instructor whose love for Jesus Christ has taken him from singing at home to singing gospel and southern gospel in churches, nursing homes and retirement centers. Larry and his wife, Cheryl, reside in Liberty Township.

Amy K. Stoner has been teaching elementary music at Northfork Local Schools for nearly 20 years. Amy is involved in Mount Vernon Players as well as on the board of the Hobby Horse Hill Equestrian Therapy Center. She is a member of the Waterford United Methodist Church in Fredericktown. She and her husband, Jim reside in Fredericktown.
