HOWARD – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Saturday afternoon just before 1 p.m. in Brown Township on North Ridge Heights Drive at Danville-Amity Road.
A 2011 Dodge Caliber, driven by Glenna J. Young, age 74, of Howard was northbound on North Ridge Heights Drive. A 2002 Harley Davidson Sportster driven by Jonathan A. Wise, age 17, of Danville, was eastbound on Danville-Amity Road. Young was attempting to make a left turn after pulling out from a stop sign. She failed to yield the right of way to Wise. Young’s vehicle struck Wise’s motorcycle and both vehicles came to rest off the north side of the intersection.
Wise was transported to Knox Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Wise was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Young was not injured and was wearing her safety belt. Alcohol is not suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mount Gilead Highway Patrol Post.
