Accident:
On 10/4/16, a vehicle driven by Donald A. Hamm was stopped at a stop sign at Mount Vernon Avenue and an unnamed alley. Hamm attempted to cross Mount Vernon Avenue to Clay Street but was struck by Matthew Charles McManaway who was traveling eastbound on Mount Vernon Avenue and failed to yield.
Incidents:
On 10/5/16, MVPD responded to the area of Hiawatha Park in reference to found syringes. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant who stated that, while walking, he found 2 syringes lying on the bridge beside Hiawatha Park on Beech Street. Both syringes, which were used but empty, were placed in the sharps container in car 3 to be destroyed.
On 10/5/16, an officer was dispatched to Yauger Road in reference to a theft from a vehicle. It was reported that $820 was stolen from an unsecured car. The victim identified a potential suspect. Contact was made with the potential suspect who denied any involvement. The investigation is pending and the report will be supplemented if new information becomes available.
