MOUNT VERNON – The Kokosing Valley Jr. Anglers is a new endeavor being organized by Advisor, Katie Hux. This group will form a youth fishing club for interested youth to join from Knox and surrounding counties. The club will offer youth the opportunity to participate in recreational fishing and boating while learning aquatic resource conservation. As Art Nuemann, Founder of Trout Unlimited stated “Take care of the fish and fishing will take care of itself.”
Club members will have the opportunity to participate in fishing tournaments sponsored by the Ohio Bass Federation. Club tournaments will be held at surrounding lakes which will include; Knox Lake, Clear Fork, Charles Mill and Pleasant Hill. Currently the club is taking members ages 8-18. For more information, visit the Kokosing Valley Anglers Facebook page and complete the registration form and view the plan of work for the club in 2017. Members in the age group of 8-10 will only be able to participate in fishing derbies while the other members will participate in the tournaments.
