MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Fire Department invites the community to join them for a Fire Prevention Week Educational Open House on Wednesday, October 12 from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m at the main fire station at 200 West Gambier Street. Tours will begin every 30 minutes.
Community members will be able to meet the fire chief, fire prevention officer, the emergency medical services coordinator and firefighters. The event will feature safety talks, tours, equipment displays, kiddie handouts and the state dog. Attendees will be able to enter a drawing to win free home fire safety equipment.
