MOUNT VERNON – The Friends of the Knox County Animal Shelter encourage you to buy into their election.
During the Dan Emmett Festival in downtown Mount Vernon, you can vote for your favorite shelter dog. In fact, you can BUY this election. Vote as often as you like, with your pocketbook.

The shelter dogs that raise the most money will be featured in the 2017 Knox County Shelter Dog calendar, published by the Friends of the Knox County Animal Shelter organization. The dog with the highest dollar amount will be featured on the cover. All your donations will go to needed medicine, medical care or supplies for the dogs at the shelter.
Plenty of qualified candidates will be available to choose from: German Shepherds, Coonhounds, even Beagles, retrievers and no doubt a mixed breed as well. And every voter will receive a free, color shelter poster.
The Friends booth will be set up on South Main Street during the Festival, August 11-14, 2016.
