MOUNT VERNON – If you haven’t heard by now, the city’s 4th of July fireworks display will move to Ariel Foundation Park this year. Last year’s display, which capped off the grand opening of the park was such a great success, city officials decided to make the move to Ariel Foundation Park permanent.  In addition to the fireworks at dusk, several activities are planned for families to enjoy.

The schedule includes:

2pm – Food Trucks open

3pm – KrisB’s Midnight RailRoad

6pm – American Idol’s Alexis Gomez & The Mad River Band

8pm – The Dublin Silver Band

One raffle winner will be able to watch the explosion of light from atop the Rastin Tower Observation Deck with a group of his/her family and friends. Get $1 entries at July’s First Friday festivities in Downtown Mount Vernon or all day at the Park on the Fourth.

Bring out the whole family for a day at the park. Explore the ruins, play on the terraces, cruise the lakes, and more.

Free event center seating is available, or you may bring your own lawn chair. Reserve your table of 8 for all three concerts for $50 by calling 740-501-9293.

No outside beverages or coolers will be allowed inside the Schnormeier Event Center.
