MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has begun their semi-annual compliance check of registered sex offenders that are living in Knox County.
With assistance from the Mount Vernon Police Department, Adult Parole Authority, Municipal Court Probation, and Common Pleas Adult Probation, officers are working to verify that all registered offenders are living at the locations indicated on their registration. Of the 89 offenders, 60 have been verified so far.
Follow up visits are being conducted on the remaining 29 registrants. Officers have targeted four individuals for follow up investigations.
