MOUNT VERNON – John Temple will sign his book, American Pain, at Paragraphs Bookstore 229 S. Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. The book was a runner up for an Edgar Award in the true crime category and has been optioned by Warner Brothers for a film.
John is the son of Dan and Loranne Temple of Mount Vernon. John teaches journalism at West Virginia University.
The book tells the story of two brothers who exploited Florida’s lax prescription drug laws to start pain clinics in Florida which exploded into the opioid addicition that has gripped America, especially Appalachia and here in Ohio.
