MOUNT VERNON – Saturday’s Prescription Drug Drop-off event at four locations in Knox County was a success. Over 95 pounds of unused, unwanted or expired pills were collected (updated total)
Knox County Sheriff’s Captain Jay Sheffer reports the following collection totals:
Centerburg 9.28 lbs.
Fredericktown 3.02 lbs. Danville 9.1 lbs.
MVPD reports: Mount Vernon – 74 lbs.

These events are held regularly to help rid the community of medications that may cause accidental poisoning, be flushed or trashed polluting our waters.
If you who weren’t able to make it Saturday to the event, you can drop off pills anytime at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office at 11540 Upper Gilchrist Road or the Mount Vernon Police Department at 5 N. Gay Street.
