MOUNT VERNON – Springtime is a great time to clean out your medicine cabinet. Protect our children, families, and environment by properly disposing of unwanted, unused, and expired medications. Medicines in the home are a leading cause of accidental poisoning and flushed or trashed medicines can end up polluting our waters.
The Knox Substance Abuse Action Team (KSAAT) is sponsoring a prescription drug roundup at four locations throughout Knox County on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will staff each location to assist residents dropping off their medications.
The locations are:
- Mount Vernon – Knox County Health Department, 11660 Upper Gilchrist Rd.
- Fredericktown – Police Station, 182 S. Main St.
- Centerburg – Foster’s Health Mart Pharmacy, 4584 Columbus Rd.
- Danville – St. Luke’s Community Center Parking Lot, 307 Market St.
Note: Medications should be placed in baggies. No injectables or inhalers will be accepted.
