MOUNT VERNON –The Knox County Grand Jury handed down seventeen felony indictments on Monday, including a group of seven people accused of forging stolen checks, according to Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville.
Kylie S. Beheler, 22, of Mount Vernon was indicted for burglary, a third-degree felony, theft from elderly persons, a fifth-degree felony, theft, a fifth-degree felony, two counts of forgery, both fifth-degree felonies, and receiving stolen property, a first degree misdemeanor.
Christopher L. Goudy, 23, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for burglary, a third-degree felony, theft from the elderly, a fifth-degree felony, two counts of theft, both fifth-degree felonies, and receiving stolen property, a first degree misdemeanor.
Amanda A. Alexander, 25, of Columbus, was indicted for receiving stolen property, a fifth degree felony, five counts of forgery, all fifth degree felonies, and receiving stolen property, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Derek S. Weber, 33, of Newark, was indicted on receiving stolen property and forgery, both fifth-degree felonies.
Shanna L. Moore, 30, of Mount Vernon, was indicted on two counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies, as well as receiving stolen property, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Michael E. Hinkens II, 36, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for three counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies.
Charles D. Talbot, 22, of Mount Vernon was indicted for receiving stolen property and forgery, both fifth-degree felonies.
These indictments allege that on approximately October 19, 2014, Kylie Beheler and Christopher Goudy broke into the home of Kylie Beheler’s grandparents, and stole televisions and an unknown amount of other personal belongings. Beheler and Goudy also allegedly stole a number of checks from the residence. Beheler and Goudy allegedly wroteand/or distributed some of the checks, splitting the proceeds with Moore, Alexander, and Hinkens. Two other checks were allegedly written to Charles Talbot and Derek Weber.
Robert E. Smith, 28, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for domestic violence, a third-degree felony. The indictment alleges that Smithattacked his mother on February 9th. Smith also has two previous domestic violence convictions through the Mount Vernon Municipal Court. The case was investigated by Cpl. Kyle Theibert of the Mount Vernon Police Department.
Brian A. Zoeller, 28, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for failure to provide change of address, a fourth-degree felony. Zoeller was previously convicted of receipt of child pornography in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 2008.The indictment alleges Zoeller failed to provide written notice of address change to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office in November 2014. This case was investigated by Dep. Dan Selby of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
David W. Prosser, 52, of Danville, was indicted for receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony and two counts of OVI, both first-degree misdemeanors.Prosser was found in possession of a 2002 Green Chevy Cavalier when the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop for suspicion that the driver was intoxicated. The case was investigated by Tpr. Michael Waters of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Dep. Kenneth Aurand of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Steven M. Thompson, 22, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for one count of attempted passing bad checks and one count of receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies. The indictment alleges that Thompsonused two checks to obtain $2,340.00 from a First Knox National Bank account holder. The case was investigated by Ptl. Brian Weiser of the Mount Vernon Police Department.
Kevin Wies, 19, of Butler, was indicted for grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony, breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, and possessing criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony.Tyler E. Mandich, 19, was indicted for complicity to grand theft of a motor vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree, breaking and entering, a felony of the fifth-degree, and possessing criminal tools, a felony of the fifth-degree. The indictment alleges that Wies and Mandich broke into a garage and took an ATV belonging to an elderly couple. The investigation was performed by Det. David Light of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Jeremy A. Morris, 26, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth-degree. The indictment alleges that Morris was in possession of methamphetamine. The case was investigated by Ptl. Brian Weiser of the Mount Vernon Police Department.
Korey A. Eggerton, 24, of Howard, was indicted for assault of a functionally impaired person, a fourth-degree felony. The indictment alleges that Eggerton assaulted a Mount Vernon Developmental Center resident who was under his care. This case was investigated by Tpr. J. S. Schotterback of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Max R. Erwin Sr., 65, of Mount Vernon, was indicted for perjury, athird-degree felony. The indictment alleges that Erwin committed perjury in a civil case that was heard in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas in October 2014. This case was investigated by Det. David Light of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Arraignments in these cases are scheduled for Friday, March 13, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the Knox County Common Pleas Court.
