At 11:05 a.m. on Thursday, a report was filed indicating that a Utica resident’s ID was used in an attempt to file a fraudulent 2014 Ohio Income Tax return.  This was discovered when the Ohio Department of Taxation sent a verification request to the victim.

At 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, deputies arrested John Shearn, 49, of Walhonding on an outstanding warrant.  He was taken to the Knox County Jail without incident.

At 3:40 p.m. on Thursday, a report was filed indicating that someone had attempted to file a fraudulent Ohio Income Tax return in the name of a Butler resident.
