MOUNT VERNON – United Way of Knox County is accepting applications from 501(c) (3) agencies for investments in programming that addresses community needs focused on education, financial stability and health. Dollars invested in targeted programs will be awarded for use as 2016 community investments.
Knox County leaders have adopted a community vision of being a connected, inclusive, responsive, community-focused, innovative, rural environment where residents work together and support one another. Our work is strategically focused on investing in education and enrichment, health and safety, and economic vitality and community preservation. In support of this broad community vision, United Way of Knox County will serve as a unique leader, in bringing together partners to create long-lasting improvements in the communities we serve. We are recognized as an agent for change, creating opportunities that move individuals and families to self-sufficiency, while eliminating barriers for future generations.
Prospective partner agencies are eligible to apply for United Way funds if they have been in existence for at least one year and provide programs that serve Knox County residents. No strictly religious organization serving a limited group of people is eligible to be a partner agency.
New organizations interested in applying for program funding are encouraged to contact United Way at 740.397.5721 for more details about the application requirements and process.
Applications are due to United Way’s office by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2015. More information including the application, required forms and other materials, is available under the Partners tab at uwayknox.org.
