Arrests and Charges:
Mark Crim, 50, of Mount Vernon was arrested at 10:25 p.m. on Monday for misuse of the 911 system.
Incidents:
Just before 9:00 a.m. on Monday, the MVPD was contacted regarding a stolen chest-style freezer from the First Friday event. A suspect was identified.
At 9:25 a.m. on Monday, a victim reported that his 2003 Ford pick-p had been “egged” on Blackjock Road. A suspect was identified.
At 12:40 p.m. on Monday, a gray “Velo King” mountain bike was found at the intersection of S. Main and Kirk streets. It was collected by the MVPD as found property.
At 1:30 p.m. on Monday, a code enforcement official reported an abandoned 1990 Ford Fiesta with no plates on Meltzer Court.
At 2:45 p.m. on Monday, a license plate was found at the Country Court Nursing Center. It was turned over to the MVPD as found property.
At 8:00 p.m. on Monday, a resident found a black-and-red backpack on the 400-block of E. Ohio Avenue. It contained a locked Motorola cell phone, a phone charger, and a lunch box. The lunch box was empty save for some salad dressing. The items were collected as found property by the MVPD.
At 10:25 p.m. on Monday, a suspect made an inappropriate 911 call. He was alleged to have been intoxicated and was arrested.
At 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a disturbance at the emergency room at Knox Community Hospital. A suspect was identified.
At 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, a juvenile was cited for a curfew violation on Mansfield Avenue.
At 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, an alleged shoplifter was reported at the Wal-Mart. A suspect was identified and four Nintendo DS games—with a combined value of $59.69—were recovered.
At 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a victim reported the theft of personal property—a brand-new black Mongoose bicycle—from her residence on the 400-block of Spring Street.
At 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday, a driver’s license was turned over to the MVPD as found property. They are holding it while awaiting its owner to retrieve it.
