MOUNT VERNON – The Dan Emmett Music & Arts Festival will be held today through Sunday in downtown Mount Vernon. The Festival activities will result in several street closings. On Wednesday, August 6th, the Square closed for the set-up of the food concessions and the main stage. South Main Street from the Square to Ohio Avenue is shut down, as well as Vine and Gambier Streets from Gay to Mulberry. All streets will remain closed as the Festival continues throughout the weekend. Detours will be posted and enforced by the City of Mount Vernon.
In addition to the main festival grounds closures, on Sunday, August 10th, the Antique and Classic Car Show and the Motorcycle Show will close West High Street from the Square to Sandusky Street and Mechanic and Mulberry Streets from Chestnut Street to Vine Street. All streets will reopen late Sunday evening when the Festival ends and after the clean-up is completed (approximately 10:00 pm).
