MOUNT VERNON – Fair vendors and visitors alike enjoyed this year’s Knox County Fair. The attendance was more than 142,000 this week according to Fair Board president Tammy Coakley. The vendors we spoke to Saturday were thrilled with the amount of business they received this week.
Entertainment, food, rides, games, good weather, enthusiastic buying at the Junior Fair sale, and a new “park, then pay” system all combined for a successful event. Final numbers will be released next week.
Attendance figures provided by the Fair:
Sunday – 24,537
Monday – 22,935
Tuesday – 11,594
Wednesday – 30,724
Thursday – 31,966
Friday – 20,245
