MOUNT VERNON – With the first day of school just around the corner, United Way of Knox County has teamed up with two businesses for this year’s school supply drive – “Fill the Bus”. Every child in Knox County needs to start school with the confidence and supplies they need,” says Jen Odenweller, executive director of United Way. “It’s about helping every child succeed and in order to succeed they need to be prepared.”

School supplies can be donated at Walmart at 1575 Coshoccton Road, Mount Vernon between July 25 and August 11 at the front of the store in designated bins. If customers prefer, Drop and Go pre-packaged bundles of school supplies are available for purchase. Cash donations will be accepted at the Woodforest National Bank (located inside of Walmart). Supplies collected will be distributed to children in need through United Way partner agencies.

The community is encouraged to make a donation and help “Fill the Bus” for Knox County children. For more information, contact Tammy Donohue at (740)392-3800.
