MOUNT VERNON – First-Knox National Bank is pleased to announce the retirement of Barbara A. Barry, assistant vice president, marketing. Heather A. Brayshaw, assistant vice president human resources, has assumed the responsibility for marketing.
Barry joined First-Knox in 1978, as a teller at the Coshocton Avenue Office. In 1980, she was promoted to the advertising and public relations department and was named assistant manager. She was promoted to assistant vice president in 1994.

“Barbara has been our historian and marketing advocate for many years. We have counted on her to communicate with the public about First-Knox and to provide us with feedback about our markets,” Vickie Sant, president of First-Knox said. “Her eye for detail and attention to our public interactions has been important to our success. Barb’s many talents will be missed, but we are very happy that she will have more time to enjoy the next chapter of her life.”
She is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Muskingum University. During her 36 years at First-Knox, she graduated from the Ohio School of Bank Marketing, Ohio School of Banking, Bank Marketing Association School of Bank Marketing, and the Ohio Bankers Association Bank Leadership Institute.
Barry has been extremely active in the community serving in numerous organizations. She is currently on the boards of the Heritage Center Association, Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Dan Emmett Music and Arts Festival, and Distinguished Young Women of Ohio. She is a member of Soroptimist of Mount Vernon, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and the Mount Vernon Country Club. She also volunteers her time with United Way of Knox County and as an Ambassador and member of the Knox County Chamber of Commerce.
She plans to continue residing in Mount Vernon.
Brayshaw joined First-Knox in 2002 as a management associate. She has served as a customer service representative, assistant manager at the Main Office, manager at the Coshocton Avenue Office, loan operations manager and is the human resource manager. She was named She is a graduate of Danville High School and holds a bachelor of science in marketing and international business from Ashland University. She is a graduate of the Ohio Bankers League Blythe School of Banking, the Ohio Bankers League Leadership Institute, and Leadership Knox.assistant vice president in 2013.

She is a member of the Danville Church of Christ and Mount Vernon Toastmasters.
Brayshaw resides in Howard with her husband, Casey and their two daughters, Kyla and Katie.
