MOUNT VERNON – Knox Community Hospital CEO Bruce White has named James Middleton, RN, MSN, MBA, as Chief Nursing Officer. Middleton brings over 20 years of nursing and management experience to the community.

Before joining Knox Community Hospital, Mr. Middleton was the Director of Respiratory and Head and Neck Institutes at the Cleveland Clinic. He was responsible for the overall nursing operations of the Medical Intensive Care Unit which included management of all clinical, financial, operational and human resource services. His experience includes critical care, surgical services and dialysis.

Middleton received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kent State University as well as a dual degree MSN-MBA from Kent State. He is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), North Eastern Ohio Nursing Initiative, The American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), the Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives (OONE), the Society of Otolaryngology Nurses, the Society of Head and Neck Nurses and the International Nurses Association (INA).
