FREDERICKTOWN — Monday, the Fredericktown Village Council unanimously approved the Promotion of Patrolman Kyle Johnson to Rank of Sergeant at the Fredericktown Police Department.

Johnson, 37, a 1994 graduate of East Knox High School, completed his Basic Peace Officer Training in 2009 at the Central Ohio Technical College where he was recognized as top academic performer of his graduating class.

Prior to entering his Law Enforcement career, Johnson was the Vice President of Operations at Dublin, Ohio based, Metro Safety & Security. His duties included; Hiring, training, daily operations, management of approximately 50 armed and unarmed Security Officers, licensing, business development and contract negotiations.

In 2010, Johnson joined the Danville Police Department as an Auxiliary Officer. In July 2011 he was hired by the Fredericktown Police Department where he has worked as a Patrolman.

Johnson has received continuing professional development and advanced training in; Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement, Traffic Crash Investigation, Legal Updates, FBI-LEOKA Officer Safety / Street Survival, Response to Active Shooter / Threat, Crime Scene Investigations and Sexual Assault Investigations.

Johnson assumes his new role as Patrol Sergeant at the Police Department today.
