Dear KnoxPages Editor:
On December 20, there will be a trial in Ohio deciding whether or not two deer and four raccoons will be euthanized.
Their caregiver, Carol Deyo, is facing jail time and fees for rescuing the abandoned, sick animals on her farm. She is a licensed vet. tech.
Deyo is suffering from cancer. Her sickness has delayed this upcoming trial. Over 15,000 people have signed a petition to give her permits to be able to keep the deer and raccoons. The only alternative the Ohio law allows is death for each of the healthy, happy animals.
A press conference is set for Tuesday,12/17/13, where the petition will be delivered to the governor of Ohio.
