MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon city council and city school board have scheduled their annual joint meeting for tonight at 6:00 p.m. in themMiddle school library. The agenda includes discussion of what the city and schools can do together to improve the quality of life in Mount Vernon and what would improve property values and attract business and industry. Other discussion is planned for an after school family education program and stadium renovation.
The school board’s regular meeting is set for tonight at 7 in the middle school library. The agenda includes recognition of Scholar Fall athletes and approval of gymnastics as a club sport, with no cost to the board. Sandy Schisler will be honored as the Twin Oak Behind the Scenes person.
Council’s regular meeting begins at 7:30 at City Hall. All three meetings are open to the public.
