MOUNT VERNON – If you want to donate food items to the Food For The Hungry Drive on Saturday, Dec. 14 but can’t make it to a collection point? No problem! Simply leave canned or boxed food items in a bag or box by your mailbox or mail slot, and Knox County postal workers will pick up the items as they come by to deliver your regular Saturday mail. It’s that easy and they won’t charge you any postage to deliver your food items. Food for the Hungry benefits the Salvation Army and Interchurch Social Services.
