Kenneth Butler Jr., 50, of Mount Vernon was charged at 5:40 p.m. o Monday with assault.
Wayne W. Rittenhouse, 31, of Frazeysburg was picked up just after 11:00 p.m. on Monday for an outstanding warrant.
Traffic Violations
Valjean A. Knerr, 87, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 4:45 p.m. on Monday for failing to yield at a stop-sign.
Maria K. Shay, 18, of Centerburg was cited at 6:20 p.m. on Monday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead.
Accidents
At around 4:45 p.m. on Monday, Valjean A. Knerr, 87, of Mount Vernon attempted to turn right onto Martinsburg Road from Birch Street. She failed to yield to an oncoming 2002 Ford Taurus driven by Katelyn M. Walls, 19, of Danville and struck that vehicle in the side. Knerr was cited for the incident.
At around 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Maria K. Shay, 18, of Centerburg was heading westbound on E. Chestnut Street in her 2000 Dodge Dakota. When she failed to stop for traffic at the N. Main Street intersection, she rear-ended a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Chelsea R. Donell. This, in turn, caused Donell’s vehicle to rear-end a 2011 Buick Regal driven by Michael K. Murphy, 71, of Mount Vernon. Shay was cited for the incident.
Incidents
Just before 6:00 a.m. on Monday, a victim reported the theft of a 2002 Pontiac Gran Am from outside a residence on the 300-block of Wooster Road.
At 2:50 p.m. on Monday, a victim reported the theft of several items from an apartment on the 700-block of N. Sandusky Street. Among the missing items were two mini-refrigerators, a power converter, and a metal strip for her truck cover.
At 3:45 p.m. on Monday, a disturbance was reported at a residence on Eastgate Drive. A suspect was identified.
At 5:15 p.m. on Monday, a disturbance was reported at an apartment on Cliff Street. A suspect was identified and was alleged to have taken a purple mountain bike and a pair of brown metal-framed prescription glasses.
At 5:40 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on N. Norton Street. A suspect was identified.
At 5:45 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a disturbance at a resident on W. High Street. Suspects were identified.
