KCSO Reports

11-28-13

On Monday evening, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on the 700-block of Charles Street on  a burglary complaint.  The reportee advised that he had been house-sitting for his parents and, when he came home, found that the house had been ransacked.  The housesitter had already looked around and touched things prior to the deputy’s arrival.  The only items known to have been missing were four hundred DVDs and a small box containing miscellaneous electronic equipment.  The deputy processed the scene while the reportee wrote out his statement.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Monday, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on the 200-block of N. Clayton Street in Centerburg in response to a report of a suspicious person.  The complainant informed him that he had, earlier that afternoon, observed a young male with blond hair and a white coat on his front porch.  The unknown male had looked into a bag that was placed on a chair by his parents and then stated, “It’s just clothes”.  The bag containing clothes had been left on the porch for a friend to pick up.

The suspect then left without the bag and got into the back of a red Chevy Suburban.

Later in the afternoon, the complainant reported that he observed the same individual in the same vehicle pull up to a residence across the street and take a package off his neighbor’s porch.  He took two pictures of the Suburban as it left but was unable to capture the licence plate number.

At around 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday, a victim reported a theft from her vehicle while it was parked overnight on the 700-block of Millstone Lane in Mount Vernon.  The victim’s front-passenger window had been broken and, according to the victim, the only thing that appeared to be missing was a brown leather change purse containing about $1.00.  Photographs were taken of the vehicle and a footprint thought to have been left by a suspect.  Two deputies and three MVPD officers checked the area for about two hours but were unable to locate any suspects.

On November 21, a complainant reported that he had been notified by the manager of M & M Storage on Sandusky Street in Mount Vernon that the locks had been cut off several units by unknown suspects.  The complainant noted that he was unsure the extent of the items taken but knew that a compound miter chop saw, a tent, and two boxes of antique glassware were missing.

Just before midnight on November 21,  Jonathon E. Hinger, 22, of Mount Vernon was picked up at his residence on Martinsburg Road for an outstanding warrant.  He was taken to the Knox County Jail without further incident.
