MOUNT VERNON — The familiar sound of bells at area stores is back as the local Salvation Army kicks off its annual kettle campaign. The Mount Vernon Salvation Army’s Sienna Jackson announced the goal this year is $100,000 dollars which will be used to continue after school and tutoring programs for youth and Army operations. Bell ringers will be out each day through Christmas Eve.
