Arrests and Charges

Austin T. Vogelsong, 20, of Mount Vernon was picked up just after 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday for an outstanding warrant.

Frederick H. Henry, 45, of Mount Vernon was picked up just after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday for an outstanding warrant.  He was charged also for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  

Traffic Citations

Jimmy M. Frausto, 51, of Mount Vernon was cited at around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday for an expired registration.

Samantha M. Mele, 19, of Walhonding was cited at 10:50 p.m. on Thursday for driving under a license that had been forfeited for non-compliance and for operating a vehicle with fictitious plates.

Incidents

At midnight on Thursday, officers responded to an alarm at the Buchwald Center.  They found the exterior of the building secure but could hear an audible alarm within.  An MVNU security officer soon arrived on the scene and said that he had observed a professor leaving the building via a security camera just prior to the alarm’s activation.  He declined a walk-thru, reset the alarm, and the officers left the scene.

At 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, an officer responded to a stolen vehicle complaint at the Duke & Duchess Shoppe.

At around 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, an employee of the McDonald’s on Coshocton Avenue reported that the business had received a counterfeit ten-dollar bill.

At 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, a victim reported that her purse had been stolen from her vehicle while parked overnight outside an apartment on the 600-block of N. Sandusky Street.  She described it as being a black faux-leather snakeskin purse with a peace symbol latch.  Inside, it contained a camouflage wallet, $170.00 in cash, and various other items.

Just after 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, a suspicious person was reported on the 400-block of Coshocton Avenue.  An officer confronted the suspect and he was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  Some marijuana and rolling papers were recovered on his person.

At 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a resident of the 000-block of S. Clinton Street reported that $75.00 had been stolen.  A suspect was identified.
