LITHOPOLIS-The Ohio State Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-skip fatal crash involving a pedestrian on Lithopolis Road, south of Salem Church Road in Fairfield County at approximately 5:50 a.m. this morning.
Evidence at the scene revealed the suspect vehicle is possibly a white 2000 Jeep Cherokee with damage to the left side and left front. The vehicle is believed to have sustained light to moderate damage, will be missing the left side mirror and may have plastic missing from the front bumper. The vehicle was last seen traveling northbound on Lithopolis Road immediately following the crash.
Killed in the crash was Joshua Allen Barnes, 24, of Canal Winchester. Barnes was walking northbound on Lithopolis Road and is believed to have been in the roadway when he was struck.
