MOUNT VERNON — On this Veterans Day an exhibition is opening at the Schnormeier Gallery at 221 S. Main Street which honors the service and sacrifice of all who answered the nation’s call. The Eyes of Freedom exhibit is a series of massive paintings depicting the fallen of Lima Company who died in Iraq in 2005. It represents in spirit all those who have given their lives in service to our country.

Local resident Joanne snow organized the exhibit and arranged for it to be displayed this week in Mount Vernon. Hours are today, Veterans Day, from 4 to 7 p.m. for families affected by war. Tuesday through Friday the exhibit will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Saturday the hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be an opportunity to meet the artist, Anita Miller, Friday, November 15th from 5 to 7 p.m.
