Knox County Sheriff’s Office Reports

11/05/2013

Just after 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Branton T. Boeshart, 35, of Danville reported that his farm machinery had been vandalized.  Someone had placed a five-foot length of logging-chain in his cornfield on Danville-Amity Road near Fredericktown.  His John Deere combine was damaged when he struck it.

At around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, a resident of Caves Road in Howard reported that, sometime during October, an unknown person removed several items from her property.  Among them were a truck bed-box used for storage and an old riding lawn mower.

Just before 9:30 p.m. on Monday, a resident of Myers Road in Centerburg reported that someone had robbed his home.  The victim had come home at around 5:30 p.m. but did not notice the robbery for several hours.  When he went into his bedroom, he found his wife’s jewelry box on the bed.  He noticed only two pieces of jewelry and $120.00 were missing.  Little else appeared to be disturbed and other valuables (including a laptop computer, television, and a gun) were in plain sight but not taken.  There were no signs of forced entry and, as the disturbed items had been moved prior to the deputy’s arrival, the scene was neither processed nor photographed.
