MOUNT VERNON — According to the city’s website, a boil advisory is being issued for the majority of the city due to an accident involving a fire hydrant. This primarily affected higher elevations and the southern Industrial Park.
If you were without water or had low pressure on Thursday, please bring your drinking/cooking water to a full rolling boil for two minutes before consumption. This should continue for a minimum of 24 hours until the boil advisory is lifted. The city says since this was a large area, door hangers were not placed in the affected area.
If you have any questions, please call the billing office at 740-393-9504 during business hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
