MOUNT VERNON – Monday, all 50 CES Credit Union employees spent their day volunteering for United Way, its partner agencies and other partners in Knox County. Projects included spreading mulch on playgrounds to improve child safety, repainting United Way’s Born Learning Trail at Riverside Park, painting the gymnasium at The Salvation Army of Mount Vernon and cleaning projects at both YMCA facilities.

During lunch, United Way Campaign Chairman, Bill Levering, spoke with CES employees about United Way’s role in serving Knox County through its “excellence in execution” of programming and collaborative efforts that advance the common good for all of Knox County. During Levering’s presentation he announced that United Way’s record campaign continues with more than 55% of the campaign goal having already been reached as of Monday. This represents $444,370 of the $800,000 goal, up from $299,000 as of this time last year.
