Arrests:
Shyloh Smith, 19, of Mount Vernon was charged at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday with underage consumption of alcohol.
Traffic Violations:
Robert L. Dunn, 42, of Salisbury, NC was cited at around 1:00 p.m. on Monday for failing to yield the right-of-way while turning.
Mark E. Foote, 53, of Mount Vernon was cited at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday for running a red-light.
Dustin A. Darst was cited at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday for failing to assure a clear driving-distance ahead and with leaving the scene of an accident.
Gary J. Tortella, 60, of Howard was cited at around 11:15 p.m. on Monday for speeding (50 in a 35 mph zone).
Accidents:
At around 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday, an unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound on Park Road. The drivers appears to have lost control of the vehicle, gone off the road to the right, and struck two residential mailboxes. The right side-mirror was broken off and was recovered in one of the yards.
Incidents:
At around 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday, a resident turned in a found wallet to the MVPD. The owner appears to be a Florida resident but could not be reached. Inside the wallet, along with miscellaneous credit and identification cards, was a piece of paper with a telephone number in the 614 area code. The name “Trina” was written on it and an officer left a message on her voice mail. The wallet and its contents were placed into evidence as “found property” for safekeeping.
At around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to an activated business alarm at Pond Tire Shop on W. Gambier Street. They checked the exterior of the building, found everything secure and in-order, and left the scene.
At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a victim reported that her vehicle had been vandalized while parked outside a residence on the 1100-block of Coshocton Avenue. A headlight was broken and a fender was dented.
Just after 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, a resident of the 000-block of Plaza Drive found several items in his back yard—including an Ohio ID-card, an insurance card, and a library card. The owner was identified and an officer took them into custody for safekeeping.
