MOUNT VERNON – Just past noon on Wednesday, Mount Vernon Police responded to a reported stabbing in the 900 block of West High Street. The victim was alert when police arrived and identified the alleged attacker as David Burnside, 54, of Mount Vernon.
Burnside was apprehended a short time later without incident at another residence in the 900 block of West High Street. He is being held at the Knox county Jail and charges against him are pending.
The victim has been taken to a Columbus hospital for treatment and the release from MVPD says the extent of her injuries is unknown.
