MOUNT VERNON-The Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Coshocton man was injured and flown to a Columbus hospital after a traffic accident on U.S. Route 36 east of Monroe Mills Road just before 9 p.m. Monday. 49-year-old Christopher Hill was traveling eastbound when he struck a deer, went off the road, struck a sign, a picnic table and a building at a drive thru business. The patrol says the deer crashed through the front windshield and exited the car through the back windshield.
This morning, the patrol reports Hill is in stable but critical condition.
Just before Hill’s car struck the deer, another car traveling westbound struck the same deer. That driver was not injured.
