MOUNT VERNON – Knox County Sheriff David Shaffer has announced the hiring of Craig Feeney to fill a vacancy in the Detective Division. Shaffer said, “Craig’s years of service as a police officer and detective will allow him to fulfill a need that we have, and to step in and begin work immediately. Detective Feeney’s duties will include assisting patrol officers, conducting investigations with our other detectives, and working with other agencies.”

Shaffer continued, “Detective Feeney says that he has enjoyed his service with the Mount Vernon Police Department. He will miss his co-workers and the times that they have had together. Fortunately both agencies work a lot of cases involving the same people so he looks forward to maintaining those relationships. This was a decision that took a lot of thought, but he is excited to be a member of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities and expand his area of operations.”
