MOUNT VERNON – The City of Mount Vernon has hired a new City Engineer. Mount Vernon native Brian Ball will take over the first week of November.

Current engineer Cameron Keaton is leaving the city to run for Knox County Engineer. Ball is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and The Ohio State University. He has a Masters Degree from Marshall University in West Virginia. Ball has been working as a civil engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Huntington, West Virginia for about 13 years.
Ball was introduced Friday and said, “It’s great to be home.” Ball, 36, is married to Sara Mankins of Edward Jones Investments of Mount Vernon.
