DANVILLE — Danville FFA participated in the All-Ohio FFA trapshoot at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo on Saturday, May 14.
Cardington FFA hosted this event for the first year and invited chapters from across the state to participate.
Formerly, Danville FFA had a trapshooting team, but it has been several years and the program is restarting the squad.
Dakota Ricketts, a sophomore at Danville, participated in the shoot and placed second overall with a score of 88.
There were 42 individuals competing in this first ever All-Ohio FFA Trapshoot. At the event, members could practice their shooting beforehand, and beginners received a safety lesson by an Ohio Department of Natural Resources representative.
ODNR also gave a brief explanation of Pittman-Robertson funds and how they benefit sportsmen and wildlife alike.
