Mount Vernon High School held its 160th annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 23. The ceremony was broken up into two sessions; the first included graduates with last names beginning A-K, and the second included graduates with last names beginning K-Z. It was conducted in the newly paved Yellow Jacket Stadium parking lot, in an effort to keep graduates and their families safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Graduates waited in their cars until they were called to the stage, where they received their diplomas. The Class of 2020's gift to the high school included hand sanitizing stations for each classroom, as well as a "career kiosk" where students can learn about different professions. The digital kiosk, which will be installed in the high school lobby, will include videos of MVHS alumni talking about their respective careers.
