The grand and reserve grand champion projects in each species were auctioned off Thursday morning in the Knox County Junior Fair Sale of Champions. Exhibitors earned nearly $100,000 total in this year's Sale of Champions, as local individuals and businesses bid for their livestock projects.

Around a dozen exhibitors competed in the 2021 Knox County Junior Fair Showman of Showmen competition on Wednesday, July 28 at the fairgrounds. Master showmen for each species were judged on their ability to show (and exhibit knowledge of) the other species at the fair. Erich Rhodeback placed first in the competition, while Rachel Light placed second.
Nearly 100 local exhibitors competed Tuesday in the Knox County Junior Fair poultry showmanship contest, which was judged by Tom Rieman. Exhibitors showed ducks, turkeys and chickens in the contest. Katie Lindeman, an 18-year-old from Fredericktown, won the senior class and was named master showman.
