Ward Hough passed away Dec. 21 at home in Mount Vernon, Ohio, surrounded by five generations of family members.

He was born in Lebanon, Missouri, on July 12 1936.

After graduating from Sand Creek High School, he joined the Army where he served as a Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Artillery Division.

Ward is survived by three sisters, Kathy (Jeff) Sallows, Sue Hobbs, Rita (Jamie) McGowan ); two children, Mike Hough and Mark Hough; nine grandchildren, Brandon(Brandi) Palms, Tisha (Eric) VanHouten, Tiffany (Chad) Apaliski, Jason (Melissa) Hough, Bria Palms, Christine (Jacob) Judy, Nicole(Rob Metcalf) Hough, Sierra (Rob) Reno and Kyleen (Mike) Brellahan; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren and along with a multitude of nieces and nephews too numerous to count, but they will know who they are.

Ward was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Kathleen O. Elliott, who he married on Dec 30, 1955; father, Roy V. Hough; mother, Thelma Henson; brother, Doyle Eldon Hough; sister, Wilma Schoonover; daughter, Wendy Hough; and a great-granddaughter, Brittany N. Jenkins.

Ward will be cremated then laid to rest at Sand Creek Cemetery, Sand Creek, Michigan, alongside his wife on Memorial Day, May 27, 2019.

There will be a gathering at Weston Methodist Church following the service.
